How to Identify the Right Patient (and Whisky)

The Incrementalist Graphic Vince Vitali

With only a few weeks to go to the annual HIMSS conference in Orlando I took the opportunity to catch up with Vince Vitali, the VP of Strategy and Business Development at Nextgate to review the current trends and hear about their special event planned at the show on Tuesday, March 10 at the NextGate booth 3128 hosted by me – more details below (sign up here).

Healthcare has been faced with a significant challenge – over 15% of patient medical records are erroneous or incorrect and mismatched. This problem has been getting worse as we add data that we increasingly understand is an important contributor to overall health and wellness but must be matched correctly. We discuss the announcement on the “100% of the U.S. Population Has a Universal Patient Identifier” which even if this were the case does not solve core challenges in patient matching

NextGate Booth 3128 Conf Floor

NextGate helps organizations accurately identify patients in the same way as I will be helping those that manage to join me to identify all the delightful flavors and aromas of a really good Whisky and you can too by signing up for the tasting event at HIMSS. You can join me and your fellow whisky enthusiasts for a 4-flight whisky tasting on Tuesday, March 10 at 4:30

Whisky Pouring endless

We will be taking a romp through the Scottish Highlands tasting Scottish Malt whisky from the Lowlands, Northern Highlands, Speyside, and Islay. Hope you can join me – meantime listen in to hear how to put the patient at the center and bringing all the patient data together depends on accurate identification.

Listen live at 4:00 AM, 12:00 Noon or 8:00 PM ET, Monday through Friday for the next week at HealthcareNOW Radio. After that, you can listen on demand (See podcast information below.) Join the conversation on Twitter at #TheIncrementalist.
