The Perfect Holiday Dram
For the Holidays I am sharing a tasting of three recent additions to the Scottish Malt Whisky Society of America – one of them is still available and it is my pick for a perfect wee dram for these cold winter evenings.
We taste three bottles that share a similar age and price but come from wildly different locations in Scotland providing a veritable cacophony of tastes. We start with a Speyside Mortlach, head down to Glen Scotia, one of the last 3 remaining distilleries open in this region and end at Caol Ila in the Islay region. The bottle from Caol Ila is still available (Tokaji and Tugboats 53.298).
